Dealing with Difficult people

I walked into the Pharmacy today and something was not quite right. The Japanese Pharmacist was standing motionless behind the counter looking very serious, and staring straight ahead. A lady and her two children were waiting nearby, so I assumed that I could approach the Pharmacist. I was distracted away by the nice lady at the other end of the counter who happily served me. It wasn’t until I sat down that I noticed a third child. He must have been seven of so. He had stationed himself between the Pharmacist and her computer. He was fiddling with the keys, while the mother seemed undisturbed. Even when the mother received her prescription, she paid little attention to her son’s desire to stay where he was. They left when she was ready. Pharmacies are no place for difficult people. I would be interested to know what your first reaction was when reading the title above.Thoughts of difficult people do not draw forth pleasant feelings. People spend lifetimes revisiting unpleasant experiences endured with less than ideal personages—and that is (as far as they are concerned), putting it nicely.Shaming a person into admitting that their reaction to certain people is not loving, generally sends the resentment deeper.Acceptance is a good place to start:1. As a good, kind Christian soul you are actually a living, breathing, open target for difficult people. No one else will put up with them! 2. Accept that sometimes God can use you to improve things, but sometimes, despite you best efforts, the devil will win the day. Be nice, anyway. 3. Some people are not going to change. Your negative feelings are only holding you back. 4. Troubled people cause trouble. Those who carry issues-to-share, will add you to their ‘Victim-list.’ Push ‘Delete!’ 5. Be ever faithful, loving and optimistic—Jesus shows the way! You will know when this is under attack. It is when you are being isolated by someone determined to unpick your faith. That is the worst of “Difficult People.” God expects us to see all things in light of faith in Jesus. Faith will grow when we love those who are the hardest to love. Sometimes, for others, that is you and me. Be strong in the strength of the Lord…its worth it!John StaigerIf you have been blessed by this message, please feel free to: Like, Comment or Share it with your friends. (303)
