Dreams and Schemes #12. “Dreams of Unity—The world can’t miss it!”

The Trinity—The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit—has always worked in perfect unity to secure the souls of man. There is so much we will never understand about God this side of heaven, but what the Holy Spirit has revealed in His Word is enough to bring us into unity with Him and His divine plan.

The gift of the Holy Spirit at baptism makes us, individually and collectively, a holy dwelling place where God resides. This was, of course, achieved by Jesus—the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world—when He died on the cross. And the Father—whose intense love was demonstrated in the sacrifice of his One and Only Son—continuously blesses us with every spiritual blessing in our lives lived in the Heavenly Realms.

If you are looking for The Lord’s Church, then look no further than the group of saints striving to emulate the unity of the Trinity. Jesus’ prayer in John 17 is filled with hope, evangelism, and the glory of divine unity. Jesus prayed:

“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. (John 17:20-21).

Jesus’ submission to the Father is the reason that we are able to humbly come before the Father to do His will. The world misses this, but they do not miss the results of our submission. It is most clearly seen in that “we love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).

If unity is lacking amongst our congregations, it is because there is a lack of understanding of the love inherent in the Trinity. The proof of our understanding is seen in our loving devotion to Christ and His people.

As I said, “The world can’t miss it!”
