Fearless #12. “It is there that we are Fearless!”

Fearless #12. “It is there that we are Fearless!”

The road to Fearlessness is strewn thick with demonic obstacles. From our first step the thought of overcoming the obvious fears—money, health, family, and all manner of temptations—seems to render any hope of success impossible.

I’m sure that we agree that all previous efforts to clear each fear on a case-by-case basis has failed. Like the mythical beast, “cutting the head off one causes even more to appear.” Yes, we must boldly face temptations—be they evil desires, people, or situations—as they appear, but most of the victory is in the preparation.

Since the beginning of time Satan has been backing those who trade in fears.

Ask yourself where you spend your money, and you might discover that a disproportionate amount relates to the safety and security for yourselves and your loved ones. Some of this has merit, but when anxious days are turning into sleepless nights, something is wrong. Too many Christians are choosing to doubt that Jesus can be taken at his word: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? (Matthew 6:25).

We must first decide the sphere of your fears: God or man?

Thus, Jesus turns our minds to that which is most important:

“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).

The body, the focus of so much care and vanity, has value in life and death only according to its use for God. Fear of condemnation in Judgement drives the repentant into the loving arms of Jesus – Praise the Lord!

There we have no fear of what man might do to our body. It is there that we are Fearless!
