If you want to make sure that you will see God, purify your mind in Christ (Mt.5:8). Therefore, you will not only be blessed on Judgement Day, but you will also be a blessing to everyone until then.
It is to the pure, that all things are pure (Titus 1:15). It is in this state that you realise that you are no longer operating on a defiled conscience. God is transforming you into the image of Christ; making you holy as He is holy. It is with these new eyes that you cannot help but see things as Jesus sees them. Before you kept a cool, defensive distance, now you draw near to bring out the best in others.
The ‘Christ-likeminded’ congregate into obvious groups. But the church is not external. It is not buildings, schools, programmes, or anything material—these are but tools. The Kingdom of Christ abides within each heart by grace through faith. Jesus said that the church’s presence cannot be missed.
The light of Christ’s presence in us makes us the light of the world. We are like a city set on a hill—unmissable! (Mt.5:14). You act according to your individual convictions. If you want to know what you really believe, just observe the fruit of your spiritual walk. Be your deeds righteous, or be they evil, everything comes to light sooner or later. Scripture never fails to seek your best, either by warning or encouragement:
“The sins of some men are quite evident, going before them to judgment; for others, their sins follow after. Likewise, also, deeds that are good are quite evident, and those which are otherwise cannot be concealed” (1Tim.5:24-25).
No matter how hard you strive to do your good deeds in secret (and you must), the light of Christ is ever shining forth in the purity of your words and deeds. They cannot be hidden—It’s impossible!
