Proverbs 28:1“The wicked flee when no one is pursuing them, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.”
Lions don’t back down. They are the epitome of fearlessness, defiant in the face of overpowering odds.Likewise, Christians are bold. They have no need to look over their shoulders. It’s the bad man who watches his back. His evil past is ever present. Any sign of retribution, real or imagined, strikes fear into him. He is always running from his deeds of old; they snap at his heels.Conscience is powerful. It either makes a Christian out of the repentant, but a coward out of the ungodly. The wicked should live in fear. They are reaping what they have sown. God’s wrath is upon them. The conscience that goads them to be anxious, even when there is no obvious danger, is one of God’s beacons calling them home. God lovingly extends his hand. But the faithful need not be anxious. Boldness is part and parcel of your life in Christ—Claim it!You are free indeed—Bask in it!There really is no condemnation for you in Christ Jesus—Be glad in it! Your old baggage is long gone, left lying beside the Broad Road—Forget it!Those doubts and fears are now dissolving in the presence of Christ—Enjoy it!Peace and security are filling your heart as you seek the mind of Christ—Glory in it!Sweet fellowship of the saints is yours—Promote it!In your possession is the hope that the sinner needs—Share it!You will be with Christ for eternity—Look forward to it!“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline” (2Tim.1:7).John StaigerIf you have been blessed by this message, please feel free to: Like, Comment or Share it with your friends.
