There is indeed a Great Day coming. The Day that Jesus gave his life to bless. The Day that will be filled with rejoicing for those who believed in that blessing.
Judgement day will be the Day that Christians realise how much Jesus did for them on the cross. We will understand the full extent of Jesus’ saving grace when we see him in his glory face to face. The pain of sin and death will be swallowed up in righteousness and life eternal. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4).
It is The Day that commands the attention of each day leading up to it. The clearer the image of Christ becomes in our hearts, the more we long to be in his presence. We examine our thoughts, words, and deeds to establish their worth as weapons of righteousness for the Good fight.
It is The Day that defines our brief sojourn upon this earth. The believer treats others according to his expectation of his ultimate destiny. He opens his Bible and watches Jesus drawing people heavenward, and does likewise.
It is The day for which the church lovingly labours. Our local congregations will form the Heavenly Assembly. Praise the Lord!
It is The Day that Beckons…
“Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him” (Hebrews 9:27-28).
