An atheist astronomer approached a minister at a party. “Preacher,” the astronomer smugly asked, “wouldn’t you agree that all of Christian theology could be summed up in this simple song, ‘Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so’?” “Yes,” the preacher replied, “if you would agree that all of astronomy can be summed up in this song, ‘Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are!'”

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” (Heb.11:6).
People spend their whole lifetime searching for ways to satisfy their soul. The plethora of drugs, legal and illegal, designed to alter moods and minds are testimony to the many efforts and failures to bring about true satisfaction. Trying to satisfy the soul through the desires of the flesh, be it through drugs or any other method, cannot be done.
Who can miss the thousands of churches, cults and New Age exponents? All are available to offer ideas on how to bring peace and meaning to the human soul. One must tread lightly and seek wisdom from above.
It is the God who made us who claims us. He seeks to know all in Christ. His promise that all can find salvation is there for all who chose to claim it. ‘Seek the Lord while he may be found’ is his advice. For one day it will be too late.
Moses’ words to Israel of old still hold true: “But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul” (Deut.4:29).
What do you seek?
