Recently, I excitedly showed a brother in the Lord the Bible Audio App that I have been listening to for years now. He listened briefly to the voice, and then, being an expert on the subject, informed me that it was not the voice of a real man. Instead, it was a voice generated through Artificial Intelligence. Though I did feel like a bubble had been burst, I had to smile to think that the voice that I had listened to more than any other in my lifetime was computer generated. Of course, I have no regrets. The hours spent listening to the Word of God, albeit by a robot, have been invaluable to my spiritual wellbeing.
For a very long time the devil has been winning The Battle of the Airwaves. If ever the expression “Dumbing Down” can be applied, it is to the devil’s online campaign against Sound Doctrine. Satan’s endless supply of videos telling people that churches that don’t accept them as they are, are unloving, have made an impact for evil. That absence of Sound Doctrine has created sick religion.
But, that being said, there is a lot of good and godly material online. We must not only search for it ourselves, but we must learn to appropriately share our discoveries with each other.
With all the material we consume, we heed Jesus’ words: “Take care what you listen to” (Mark 4:24). We seek to imbibe an abundance of godly knowledge and wisdom, so that more will be given to us. Otherwise, our meagre efforts to consume Christ’s teachings will end in spiritual famine. And, be warned, even the little left will be taken away.
Every hour of the day and night, God gives light to those who seek to be enlightened—open that Bible!
“How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night” (Psalm 1:1-2).
