To the Work #11. “Unseen Increase.”

To the Work #11. “Unseen Increase.”

Let me assure you, if the Gospel is alive in you, you have no idea of its future impact upon heaven and earth.

Generations from now the seeds that you have sown in today’s hearts will continue to bear fruit—that is the nature of the Good News of the Church.

Never let it be said that you gave up because of the negative responses of the hard-hearted. For even though many will choose darkness, some will be overwhelmed by the Light shining from your obedient heart (Matthew 5:16). Peter offers solid advice to Christian wives of unchristian husbands. He says, “Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, even if some disobey the word, they may be won over without a word by the way their wives live” (1 Peter 3:1CSB).

You cannot overstate the power of example. The world may successfully silence the church, but it cannot turn off its Light. Daily the deeds of darkness are exposed by the deeds of Light. Therein, Christian example convicts the hearts of all. Yes, some will, like Pharoah, increase the hardness of their hearts, but others will see God at work in His saints, and come to Christ for saving grace.

To see yourself as a walking, talking advertisement for Christ is a very good image to hold; for that you are! As an ambassador for Christ your words and actions are deliberately chosen to honour his sovereignty. Anything you might do or say that may bring reproach upon his reputation is carefully avoided before you act or speak. The power of your mission is in the glory of the Christ you reflect.

Remember, we sow, and God gives the increase—seen and unseen!

“To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12NASB95).
