Trials within and without #3. “No place for the Yellow.”

Trials within and without #3. “No place for the Yellow.”

Standing on the day of battle is the goal of every Christian, but many times we fall.

But though we fall, we rise in the forgiveness of the Lord to fight on.

How long can we do this? For as long as there is grace available to the repentant. If we are expected to have grace enough to forgive each other 70 times 7 times, how much more grace does God have to share?

However, we need not fall, because God strengthens us for the trails that beset us; both great and small.

He tells us to armour-up! “Therefore, take up the full armour of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm” (Ephesians 6:13).

God equips you to move forward into the fight. With your “shield of faith” you need not fear the relentless volleys of fiery darts coming from Satan.

However, if you have little regard for the whereabouts of your breastplate of righteousness, belt of truth, and helmet of salvation, your feet are not likely to be shod with preparation of the gospel of peace, anyway (Ephesians 6:14-17).

But most telling of all is your swordsmanship (Ephesians 6:17). If you are not ready to defend your faith with the Sword of the Spirit, you will be defeated.

So, ready yourself for the battle and don’t give up!

The scriptures warn of the fate of the coward. The one who receives the word, but when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away. (Matthew 13:21). This is the believer who will choose to preserve his life and his property rather than confess the name of Christ.

Where they are going, we must not follow:

“But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8).
