Dreams and Schemes #8. “Disruptions.”

If your church has weathered the last few years well, it is probably because all of you did a lot of things right in the preceding years. If the Bible, fellowship, prayer, and good works were up front and central, it shoIuld come as no surprise that Satan struggled to get a foothold.

However, the disruptions to face-to-face fellowship have taken their toll on many churches. Satan found their pre-existing weaknesses and capitalised on them. Strain was put on already weakened faiths and they did not sustain the pressure.

It has been hard for our heart break not to cause paralysis in our ranks. Thus, we must look to the future with our eyes and prayers on both those who have left us, and also on those who are yet to find us.

In this new world in which we have arrived, we must rise up with a new determination to grow strong in the Lord. For it is with such a purpose of spirit that we will assure a better outcome from future interruptions.

Not that I am suggesting that seeking a renewed spirit of evangelism needs to wait for a worldwide event to occur. There is enough disillusionment going on in the life of the average person to make them already wonder what this life is really all about. You and I must be ready with the solution that is above all solutions—Jesus Christ!

Believe me, established false churches and new cults are reaching out to those who have been left disenchanted by the changes that have come upon them. I praise God when genuine needs are being fulfilled, but when false teaching is being shared with every act of kindness, then salvation is being withheld.

Disruptions must become natural opportunities for us to grow in Christ and to share his blessings.
