Stepping up#8. “Not my Future..?”

Stepping up#8. “Not my Future..?”

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen (Eph.3:20-21).

If God’s starting point for our life is that He is “able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think,” then why are we approaching this ocean of blessings with a teaspoon?

A sense of powerlessness is no excuse. God will do this “according to the power that works within us.” Somehow, we have no trouble seeing the extent of the devil’s power injected into our lives, but we are strangely remiss in our efforts to see the extent of God’s power injected into our lives. Don’t worry about how God works in you, just be grateful and build on it.

When your starting point is: “To Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever,” you can consider yourself a Holy Spirit carrying member of God’s eternal plan.

It is always time to ask God to equip you for good works. Good works “far more abundantly beyond” the reaches of your imagination.

Why can’t you learn to speak with ease to strangers about Jesus?
Why can’t you replace the shackles of doubt for a cast-iron faith?
Why can’t you clear away debt and materialism and fill your life with the joy of giving?
Why can’t you move to a new country to be a missionary?
Why can’t you win over your enemies and strengthen your friendships?
Why can’t you pray prayers and know that God will answer every one of them according to His will?
Why can’t you read your Bible and know that the Holy Spirit is changing you and using you to build the church?
Why can’t you glory in the troubles brought by a life well-lived for Jesus?

And…why can’t we all Step-up and invite God to use us for all that he can make us worth?

“Not my Future…? You bet it is!
