Your Purpose?:Making money.Being the boss.Having Fun.Being popular.Not necessarily bad…for a while!But …Without Christ there is always a sense of emptiness in our pursuits… Colossians 3:17 17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
All we have is now. True to a point … We live in the moment, but… We carry “Yesterday” along with us, the possibilities of the future are always on our minds. God made us to consider all three states… Then, Now, When Colossians 4:5-6 5Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. 6Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.
Mercy Defined … ⦁ Mercy is thedemonstration of compassion⦁ Webster: “Kind or forgiving treatment of someone who could be treated harshly.”⦁ Easton’s Bible Dictionary:“Compassion for the miserable.”⦁ Compassionate treatment or attitude to an offender or an enemy⦁ Vine’s Dictionary:“The outward manifestation of pity”⦁ Helping the helpless, forgiving the sinner Colossians 3:13 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Colossians 4:5 5 Conduct yourselves[a] with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunities. 1 Peter 3:15 15 But set Christ[a] apart[b] as Lord in your hearts and always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks about the hope you possess.[c] As christians we are all about new connections. Christianity is all about relationships. There are different aspects to God’s relationship with us individually as well as His relationship with the church. There are relationships between Christians in the church.
•It is crucial to put things in place to make sure your prayer-life does what it is supposed to do—To Failsafe it! • •A daily job. •Distractions abound. •Daily routines change. •People and Things come and go. •The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry. Colossians 4:3 (NASB) 3 praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned;
Failure is inevitable: •Sin •Mistakes •Accidents •Poor planning •Lack of skill Colossians 2:14 (NASB) 14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
Our Today— Love does not shrink back from telling the truth, we speak the truth in love. Jesus is love in the flesh, out of love we preach Christ and him crucified Colossians 3:14 (ESV) 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
